Lets get back campaign, launched by Charnwood Borough Council.

A campaign to highlight Charnwood’s fantastic high streets, great attractions, top places to eat and drink and outstanding open spaces is being launched today.

The Let’s Get Back campaign, launched by Charnwood Borough Council, is encouraging people to support their local area, businesses, and communities by taking the time to go and visit them.

And the Council wants people to share what it is that makes Charnwood a great place to live, visit and work in. Is it the bustling high streets of Loughborough, Shepshed, Birstall, Syston or Thurmaston or the rural retreats of Quorn, Barrow or Woodhouse Eaves?

Have you spent time at the Outwoods or Bradgate Park recently or popped along to Great Central Railway, Loughborough Bell Foundry, Charnwood Museum or Loughborough Market? Share your views with the Let’s Get Back Campaign by joining in the conversation on social media.

The Let’s Get Back campaign is all about showcasing what a great place Charnwood is and there’s never been a better time to explore it.

Cllr Shona Rattray, lead member for business support, said: “This is a borough-wide campaign and an opportunity to shout about everything Charnwood has to offer. And that is a lot! From busy towns and picturesque villages, to great shops and places to eat and drink.

“We also have some fascinating heritage and outdoor spaces to explore. As a Council we are committed to supporting our local economy, communities and open spaces. We believe this is a great way of not only highlighting the best of ‘Our Charnwood’ but also a chance for people to share their experiences as well. Please get involved!”

Cllr Jenny Bokor, the Council’s lead member for Loughborough, said: “I am fantastically proud of Charnwood and as lead member for Loughborough I am always keen to shout about what our fantastic town has to offer, from the busy markets and the great shopping experience to nights out in the local pubs and restaurants.

“The pandemic has not gone away and we still need to be cautious, but local businesses need your support as we recover from the impact of the pandemic and getting out to some of our open spaces is a great way to get fresh air and exercise in a very safe environment.

“Let’s get back to all the things we love about ‘Our Charnwood’.”

The campaign will be showcasing what ‘Our Charnwood’ has to offer across social media, the local media and a number of other channels.

The campaign will also highlight local events in the coming weeks and months.
